City Green Live Concert Series

City Green Live is a series of monthly, free-to-attend concerts put on by the City of Sandy Springs that bring together music lovers of all ages and backgrounds. This year's lineup has been announced, and we couldn't be more excited about it!

  • May 23 – Face 2 Face (a tribute to Billy Joel and Elton John)
  • June 13 – September in the Park (a tribute to Earth, Wind & Fire and Chicago)
  • July 25 – Black Jacket Symphony (performing Saturday Night Fever)
  • August 15 – Moon Taxi (alternative/Indie)

Time: City Green opens at 4:00pm / Festivities begin at 6:00pm / Headliner starts at 7:30pm

Location: The concerts are, of course, located on the beautiful and spacious City Green at City Springs (1 Galambos Wy, Sandy Springs, GA 30328).

Tickets: While they are free to attend, there is the option to reserve a table for $60-$90. Lawn seating is first-come, first-serve, so make sure to get there early!

Mark your calendar for Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. as the City of Sandy Springs proudly hosts its annual Juneteenth Celebration—an inspiring evening of culture, creativity, and community. This free, family-friendly event honors the legacy of freedom with a dynamic mix of performances, interactive exhibits, and engaging educational activities.

The celebration will activate three key spaces at City Springs: Byers Theatre, the Byers Lobby, and the City Green.

Byers Theatre: At 5:30 p.m., experience the premiere of IMANI, a moving stage production presented by Namari Dance Center. Meaning “faith” in Swahili, IMANI journeys through the enduring spirit of enslaved Africans, using powerful dance, soulful vocalists, live painting, a stirring spoken word performance, and a choir to tell the story of liberation and resilience. This unforgettable performance promises to leave audiences inspired and uplifted.

Byers Lobby: Dive into innovation with the STEAM Digital Art Exhibition, curated by LIQUID Arts & Productions. Featuring immersive digital and augmented reality works created by local middle and high school students, this interactive gallery responds to the theme, “How does knowing history shape our path to peace and harmony?” Under the mentorship of acclaimed multidisciplinary artist PeQue, students explore tools like Procreate and AR technology to express their reflections on freedom, culture, and identity.

City Green: Outdoors, families can enjoy a wide array of hands-on activities and cultural experiences. Highlights include:

  • A new Juneteenth Scavenger Hunt
  • A Genealogical Research Exhibit, in collaboration with FamilySearch and the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society
  • A West African Community Drum Circle led by Djoli Kelen—guests are encouraged to bring their own percussion instruments and join in the celebration!
  • Live entertainment, food trucks, local vendors, arts and crafts, games, and more.

Concerts By The Springs Series

Similar to the City Green Live series, Concerts by the Springs are free, monthly concerts for the everyone to enjoy. These concerts take place at the Heritage Amphitheatre, a stunning outdoor venue with tiered seating and lush greenery. This year's lineup is as follows:

  • June 1 – Funk Force Five (Motown, oldies, classic R&B)
  • July 13 – Troubadour Project (70s rock revival)
  • August 3 – Mike Veal Band (blues, rock and funk party hits)
  • September 7 – The Bourbon Brothers (a tribute to The Rat Pack)

City Springs Theatre Company Shows

Looking for a fun way to kick off your weekend? Head to the Studio Theatre Friday June 20th, July 18th, and August 22nd for Funny Fridays, a high-energy comedy night hosted by Atlanta’s own award-winning comedian, Joel Byars.

This monthly showcase transforms the Studio Theatre into a full-blown comedy club experience, featuring a rotating lineup of standout local comedians.

Want to beat the summer heat? Take advantage of the over 22 miles of Chattahoochee River shoreline in Sandy Springs, and cool off in the water!

New to Morgan Falls Overlook Park, Murphs Surf Shack is open for the summer, and they want you to enjoy a sunny day out on the water! Rent a paddleboard or kayak, and take in the serene waterscape of Morgan Fall's Blue Sluice Lake.

The Nantahala Outdoor Center is also open for business, and they're offering trips down the beautiful Chattahoochee! Rent a tube, raft, or kayak, and float your way down a 3.5-mile stretch of river from the Powers Island drop-in to the Paces Ferry take-out, This is an awesome outdoor activity for adventure seekers of all ages! Prices start at $35 per rental.
