Many thanks to everyone who joined us for the 3rd Annual Sandy Springs Lantern Parade. Stayed tuned for more information on when we'll be taking it back to the river in 2019!
The 3rd annual Sandy Springs Lantern Parade took place on Saturday, April 21, 2018. The parade started at Steel Canyon Golf Club and ended at Morgan Falls Overlook Park. Chantelle Rytter, the creator of the very successful Beltline, Grant Park, and Decatur Lantern Parades, produces our unique “Take It to the River” Lantern Parade. This year, Chantelle introduced new dragonfly and great blue heron "puppet" lanterns to interact with the audience. The new additions joined the veteran lineup of lanterns, including swans, Lilly and Billy, Alice the 25-foot albino alligator, Big Mama Sandy the turtle, and Jeremiah the bullfrog, accompanied by his lilies. Once the parade reached the river, paddlers from High Country Outfitters escorted select lanterns to the river for a floating parade.
