The City of Sandy Springs is hosting its annual Juneteenth Celebration on Friday, June 19th at City Springs. This free, family-friendly event honors the legacy and culture of African Americans with live performances, a digital art exhibition, and a full evening of activities on City Green.

Outdoors, you can enjoy live entertainment, food trucks, local vendors, arts and crafts, and a Community Drum Circle led by Djoli Kelen. Bring any percussion instrument and join in!

The event also features a Digital Art Exhibition curated by multidisciplinary artist PeQue, showcasing original works created by local middle and high school students using digital drawing and augmented reality tools.

Free parking is available in the City Springs garage and rideshare drop-off at 215 Johnson Ferry Rd.

Elmo's Got the Moves is an all-new live show featuring Elmo and the whole Sesame Street crew performing beloved songs like "Sunny Days," "Elmo's Got the Moves," and "Letter of the Day." Murphs Surf Shack is open for the summer in Morgan Falls Overlook Park,, and they want you to enjoy a sunny day out on the water! Rent a paddleboard or kayak, and take in the serene waterscape of Morgan Fall's Blue Sluice Lake.

The Nantahala Outdoor Center is also open for business, and they're offering trips down the beautiful Chattahoochee! Rent a tube, raft, or kayak, and float your way down a 3.5-mile stretch of river from the Powers Island drop-in to the Paces Ferry take-out, This is an awesome outdoor activity for adventure seekers of all ages! Prices start at $35 per rental.
