A Local's Guide: Tips for Enjoying a Braves Baseball Game
Baseball season is here, and Atlanta Braves fans in Sandy Springs have one of the best ballparks in the country just a short drive away. Whether you're a lifelong Braves die-hard or a complete first-timer, here's everything you need to know to pull off a perfect game day!
Where to stay
Sandy Springs has 21 hotel partners ready to host Braves fans before or after the game. If you want to stay as close to the stadium as possible, the Sonesta Atlanta Northwest Galleria is the clear winner. It's the closest hotel to Truist Park and offers a complimentary shuttle to and from the stadium, making game day completely stress-free.
Prefer to stay closer to the heart of Sandy Springs? The Westin Atlanta Perimeter North, Home2 Suites, and Fairfield Inn & Suites are all roughly 20 minutes from the ballpark and super convenient for rideshare pickups. Every Sandy Springs hotel sits within five miles of MARTA too, so getting around Metro Atlanta is easy no matter where you land.
Getting Tickets
The beauty of Truist Park is that there truly isn't a bad seat in the house. Even general admission and upper deck seating offer a fantastic view of the field, and if you're lucky you'll catch a gorgeous Georgia sunset just over the right field side!
Plan ahead and you can find general admission tickets starting around $15, upper level seats from $21, and outfield spots around $32. Lower level seats are typically held by season ticket holders, but you can often find them for resale on Ticketmaster or third-party platforms. The Buy/Sell/Trade Atlanta Braves Tickets Facebook Group is also a great resource for deals.
The Braves' ticketing team regularly runs promotions that can bring single-ticket prices down to as low as $6 (before fees). Create an account on the Braves website and opt into marketing emails so you catch those deals the moment they go live. The current promotions calendar is worth a look too. Past offerings have included bobblehead giveaways, college alumni nights, and themed evenings like Harry Potter Night!
Recurring packages worth bookmarking include the Batting Practice Experience, Coca-Cola Wednesdays (a seat in the Coca-Cola Corner plus one complimentary Coke product for $20), and the T-Mobile Braves Value Pack, which bundles a ticket, snack, and drink together starting at $30.
Parking
Unless you're staying at the Sonesta and using their free shuttle, rideshare is honestly the way to go. Truist Park has a dedicated Lyft and Uber drop-off and pickup zone near the Third Base Gate at the Battery Delta Deck. It's also nice because you can freely enjoy all the drink options The Battery has to offer without worrying about getting home.
If you do drive yourself, you can purchase a parking pass alongside your ticket. Passes range from $20 to $65 depending on the lot and gameday.
Here's a neat trick worth knowing: on game days, if you park in the Red, Green, Yellow, or Purple decks inside Battery Atlanta and spend $50 or more at Battery merchants, bring your receipts to the parking attendant for validation. Groups get one validation for every $50 spent.
Accessible parking is available in Lot N29 and the Red Deck (a valid ADA hangtag is required). A shuttle runs from those spots to Battery Avenue, right outside the Third Base Gate.
The Battery
Before you even step into the stadium, make sure to spend some time at The Battery Atlanta, the entertainment district wrapped right around Truist Park. It's become a beloved pregame tradition for locals and visitors alike, and honestly it's half the fun. Breweries, restaurants, live music at the Coca-Cola Roxy, and even TopGolf Swing Suites all make for a great warmup to the main event.
Oh, and don't miss the massive Braves sign and the oversized 2021 World Series ring. Both are incredible photo opportunities and you really can't walk past them without stopping!
The Stadium Experience
Aim to arrive at least an hour before first pitch. If there's a bobblehead giveaway or special promotion that day, bump it to an hour and a half just to be safe. Getting there early means a smoother entry, time to explore the park, a chance to browse the team store, and food in hand before you miss a single pitch.
Speaking of food, options range from comfort classics like Chick-fil-A and Waffle House to Truist Park originals like the 1871 Grille. Stadium prices do run a premium, but here's a handy tip: Truist Park allows fans to bring a clear one-gallon zip-lock bag of outside food. Pack your own snacks and save your stadium budget for the things you really want, like an ice cold beer or the classic ballpark hot dog you absolutely have to get.
Protip: Download the MLB Ballpark app, and set your location to Truist Park; from there, you can order ahead from select concession vendors and the team store from the comfort of your seat! You can also take part in the various mid-game big-screen activities, like voting for the 7th inning stretch song.
Arrive early enough and you can snag a standing-room spot inside the Chop House, the bar and restaurant out in right field. The view of the game from there is great, but it fills up quickly once things get going.
History fans should make their way over to the Monument Garden in Section 125, where a nine-foot Hank Aaron statue greets you at the entrance. Inside you'll find historic jerseys, Hall of Fame plaques, and artifacts from some of the most memorable moments in franchise history. It's really cool stuff and well worth a few minutes of your time.
Beyond the game itself, Truist Park regularly hosts extras like on-field batting practice access, base-running opportunities, and Friday night fireworks. Check the promotions schedule before you go because you might just find something worth planning your whole visit around!
