Events are a back in Sandy Springs in a big way this September. The weekend of September 25 in particular is going to be a jam packed one. Here are four big events worth planning a weekend trip for:

 

The Sound of Music

After a triumphant return to indoor shows at the Byers Theater in July with Into The Woods, The City Springs Theatre Company is now bringing another beloved musical to the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center. The Sound of Music is an inspirational musical about the young nun Maria and the Von Trapp family, which won five Tony’s and five Oscars and captured the imagination of audiences around the world. Pontoon Brewing’s Brownie Bash

Craft beer fans won’t want to miss this one! Pontoon Brewing is turning their annual Brownie Bash party into a full blown festival. Brownie Bash will feature over 50 breweries from across the US, live music from local bands including Atlanta's own Nappy Roots, food and brownie vendors, and four new versions of Pontoon's barrel-aged Brownie Batter beer. Food That Rocks

This annual outdoor food festival is a true celebration of the culinary scene in Sandy Springs. Food That Rocks is normally only one night, but this year it will be broken up into four sessions across three days to help keep attendee numbers down and encourage safe distancing. The event will be held at City Springs with sessions from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. September 23-25, 2021, and an afternoon session on September 25 from noon – 3 p.m. Each session will feature food and drinks from some of Sandy Springs’ most popular local restaurants. Artsapalooza

Love checking out artwork and handmade goods from local artists? Then you won’t want to miss Artsaplooza! The 9th Annual Sandy Springs Artsaplooza is an outdoor arts festival with an emphasis on visual arts and handcraft. The 9th annual  The festival will be held across two days on September 25-26 and feature a children’s play area, local musicians, interactive art stations and over 100 arts and crafts vendors in every discipline. This event is free!
