SUP Yoga is a combination of yoga and stand up paddle boarding. High Country start each class with brief instruction on paddle technique and paddle out to a nearby protected area on the river where your SUP will be anchored. Following the warm up paddle, students will be guided through breathing techniques, basic sun salutations, and flow into more challenging postures on the water. Variations will be given to accommodate all levels and ages of students.
The benefits of practicing on the water are endless. Some of the advantages include: increased balance, strengthening your core (hello, bandhas!) and leg muscles, improved respiration, increased blood flow, energy, and happiness. We can’t imagine a better way to practice than surrounded by trees, water and sunshine!
