1. Spooky Springs
Got a gaggle of young trick-or-treaters who aren’t quite ready for Halloween’s ghosts, ghouls, and goblins? On October 22nd at 5pm, spend a fun-filled evening at kid-friendly Spooky Springs. Tailored to young trick-or-treaters, the annual celebration at the Abernathy Greenway Park features plenty of family-friendly entertainment, including costumed characters, trick-or-treating stations loaded with goodies, and face painting.
2. Battle & Brew’s Annual Halloween Cosplay Party
On October 29th, Battle & Brew is bringing back their Halloween festivities! It’s the perfect place to embrace your inner geek and unveil your inventive Halloween get-up to win prizes! This year, they’ll be hosting both a kids/teen and an adults-only party, so everyone can join in on the fun! In celebration of the spookiest day of the year, the game bar will offer Halloween-inspired food and drink specials, a costume contests, and music and dancing. So, if you’ve got the perfect costume cooked up, show it off at Battle & Brew!
3. Spine-tingling Halloween Movies
Springs Cinema and Taphouse has a plethora of scary movies on deck for everyone all to enjoy! They have their Fright Night series which features the comedy-horror classic, “Evil Dead 2”, on October 19th. Following that up, on October 26th, Michael Myers will be on the big screen when “Halloween” Both will be in theaters, with tickets on sale now.
Their drive-in is returning as well with a double feature of the aforementioned Halloween (1978) being shown once again, as well as The Addams Family (2019). Finally, on Halloween, they are throwing Beetlejuice-themed party, including scary props, DAY-O Conga lines, and prizes for those that go all out!
4. Catch In The Heights at Byers Theatre
What better way to get in the Halloween spirit, than watching a cast of professionals in costume put on an epic performance? City Springs Theatre Company is back with another rendition of a critically acclaimed play, this time it’s Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In The Heights. Follow main character Usnavi de la Vega and other inhabitants of Manhattan neighborhood, Washington Heights, as their dreams and aspirations bring their community together.
5. Dine and Party with the Dead at Gialloween
Il Giallo’s annual Halloween party is back, and this year there’s a costume contest! This 21+ event features live music from CJ & the Doughboys, delicious Italian food, and a full bar. Tickets are $79 per person. The celebration kicks off at 7pm on Sunday, October 30th. Il Giallo is a beloved local Italian restaurant known for their handmade pasta. This is the perfect way for foodies to celebrate the holiday.
6. Pumpkin Patch Visits
When the autumn air is crisp and cool, and the leaves are changing with a fiery flourish, a stroll through an open-air pumpkin patch is a timeless fall tradition. Whether you’re seeking out the perfect pumpkin for your next jack-o-lantern, picking up seasonal home decorations, taking atmospheric fall photos, or just soaking up the scenery, a pumpkin patch visit has plenty to enchant visitors of all ages.
The seasonal pumpkin patch at North Springs United Methodist Church is a treasured city tradition. The church offers family-friendly activities on weekends throughout the month of October, including games and pumpkin decorating.
If you're looking for something a little more chic to decorate your home with, head to Gramma B’s Home and Garden. You won't only find a wide variety of colorful pumpkins and other gourds there, but they also sell flowers, plants, pots, gifts and accessories.
