Experience the acclaimed film October Sky, based on the book Rocket Boys, on a huge outdoor screen under the stars. The movie takes place in the heart of Sandy Springs on the terraced lawn of the Sandy Springs UMC Hitson Activity Center; admission is free. Refreshments will be available at the concession stand. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Performances by local entertainment will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the movie will be shown at dusk. Note to parents: The movie is an inspirational story about following your dreams, no matter how unachievable they might feel. It is rated PG.
